Montevertine's Pian del Ciampolo blend is 90% Sangiovese, rest with equal amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino, deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of red fruits, floral, herbs and smoky oak. On the palate flavors of cherry and currants with dried herb notes, cacao and tobacco notes. Fine ripe sweet tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an earthy herb spice character. Nice! — 5 months ago

Francie thought it the best Chianti she’s tasted. — 4 years ago
Crowd pleasing complex Chianti. Blend of Sangiovese (85%), Merlot (10%) and Colorino (5%). Aromas of dark berries, dry earth, black olives, leather and rosemary. Dried black cherry envelopes the pallet along with touches of dried cranberries, black licorice and tobacco. Soft tannins and well balanced/fresh acidity. Thank You, Ron B. Revisited in August 2022. Aging nicely. — 5 years ago
Rich and bold with cherry, oak, leather, and pepper. Dry but not sharp. — a month ago
Poured into a decanter right before service. The 2020 pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity, with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Montmorency cherry, red flowers, black tea, fresh sage, some dried green herbs and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a classic, rustic Chianti Classico without the DOCG designation. Better after 2030 and will drink well through 2045. — 5 months ago
This was an incredible wine. Tobacco and plum on the nose. Love the rich tannins of this wine — 2 years ago

Another excellent Steven Graf/Fifi selection… organic yet clean and classic. Bright dark fruits and nicely balanced tannins and a spicy finish. Paired tonight with wild boar ragu. Stop the madness. — 5 years ago
On retreat with pat and greg. This was impressive. Stylized by markings of turmeric and elderberry. Supplemented by a base of cassis and sage. — 5 years ago
Badia a Coltibuono, or "The Abbey of good harvest," lies in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, between Florence and Siena. The Abbey is approximately 2000 years old. Blend of 90% Sangiovese; 10% Colorino, Canaiolo, & Ciliegiolo. Deep Ruby color, aromas of black fruit and earthy spice nose. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with savory tannins, good balance, black pepper and cacao notes. Medium+ finish ending with earthy mineral notes. Good now. — 25 days ago
Purchased from rootstock, was good. Organic. Mom said she liked the Chianti purchased a few weeks prior more — 9 months ago
Excellent! Rounded, red fruits, beautiful — a year ago
The 2020 Rubesco, 90% Sangiovese and 10% Colorino, is darkly floral with spiced black cherries, red plums, dusty rose and balsamic spice. Depths of ripe red and blue fruits swirl beneath an air of violet inner florals, taking on an iron-borne minerality toward the round, pliant close. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, October 2024) — 2 years ago
Deep Ruby with aromas of berries, leather and earthy notes, blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Malvasia Nera and 10% Colorino. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberries with leather, cacao and earthy herbs. Long finish, round tannins ending with fruit and earthy character. Very nice!! — 4 years ago
An entry level Rufina, but so QPR in a medium bodied 95 % Sangiovese 5% Colorino blend. Drank over 3 days, & it kept on giving. Dark red fruits like ripe plum with bay leaf in the background; medium acidity with a fantastically chewy mouthfeel, almost grainy. For 11$ & change on sale, high return QPR. Matched perfectly w roasted carrot & Brussel sprouts lasagna — 5 years ago
