chianti Classico from Italy from Kelly’s honeymoon — very good — 4 months ago
Nose - soil, wet stone and petrichor/rainy day. Main flavors - delicate stone fruit like plum, cherry and an after taste of fruit pits. Mouthfeel - silky upfront and the a little bit of acid and zing on the back. Really approachable wine. Don’t sleep on dolcetto! Lovely wine. — a year ago
Huge nose of plum, lavender, strawberry jam, raspberry jam, vanilla, almond extract, and cranberry. Big red fruit on the palate of dark cherry, fresh raspberry, cranberry, as well as black tea, licorice, menthol, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, leather, white pepper, sage, oak, and blackberry. Medium plus tannins, high alcohol, and high acid. — 6 years ago
Different than I was expecting - much more floral and with a stronger boquet of lavender and violets than the leathery and dried tobacco. Dark cherry, medium tannin, some plum. — 8 years ago
Very drinkable Italian red, good w pasta — 9 years ago
One of the most reliable and affordable Verdicchio producer. It used to make just the one label you see here, but now they make another one from young vines and a rose if i am right.
I love the mineral expression of Matelica.
This came from a magnum. It was sensational, too easy too drink. It went so quickly you could miss what you were drinking and you could go back and keep asking...what was it? What was it?what was it?...and on and on and on....
I reckon when people think of a stereotype of good Italian wine this is what we should think of..at least i wish...Cheers!!! — 2 months ago

Your grandmother lives in a far too cute rural cottage. You wake up in an antique timber cot, the house redolent with pot pourri. Mid morning sun pours through the broken screen door to an empty kitchen, where blackened steel pots are abundant, but no grandma. You push through the screen, to a wild, wild garden, overgrown with wildflowers, berries, citrus, tomato vines, and a cacophony of terracotta potted colour. Grandma beams in flowing Liberty print, nibbling a nasturtium, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. “Someone finally decided to wake up...” — 5 years ago
Drank what was left from a bottle I Coravined a few months ago then refrigerated. Hadn’t lost any of its freshness or structure, there were only 5 or 6 ounces gone from the bottle when I opened it. Beautiful red fruit, great balance of fruit, acidity and tannin. Made from specific old vines grown on sandy soil in cool vintages. Stunner! — 7 years ago
