Clos Ste. Hune Alsace Riesling 2005

Just phenomenal Alsatian Riesling - big ass nose of tropical fruit led a panoply of apricot, tangerine, baked apple and baking spice. Perfectly aged and always on the verge of sweet, lifting the tension while never taking it there. Voluptuous. — 2 days ago

Reserve Ethos Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a beautiful one from Washington State.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Light nose with blueberries, black plums, black cherries, light vanilla, licorice, oak, spices, coke, light vegetables and black pepper.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, black cherries, cedar, leather, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates tobacco, mocha, coke, vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Long long finish with round tannins and cherries.

This is a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State. Showing nice complexity with a great mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and tasty.

Good right out of the bottle, but much better after 3 hours of airtime, when the tannins, and more complexity come out.

Will drink nicely in the next 5 to 10 years. Wine Advocate 92 points.

A good wine to drink all by itself and talk about with friends. This 6 years old is spicy, rich and smooth. Delicious.

A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 2% Syrah. Aged for 22 months in French oak barrels (35% new).

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

Sweet plum top note, heavy bodied, (2010) bottle. Nice hint of blackberry finish, no tannin aftertaste whatsoever. Very good. — 8 days ago

Bandol Mourvedre Grenache 2016

The hissing yet attractive bitterness & garrigue are present and correct—more Kaa the Snake than Baloo the Bear. Well-integrated and attractive if less complex than others. Decant or hold. — 18 days ago
