Claude Moritz

Jean-Claude Ramonet

Morgeot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

Medium lemon yellow colour . Quite rich and ripe on the nose with buttered popcorn , lemon oil , toasty hints and some honeysuckle and peach . On the palate this is also quite rich , with lemon peel , apricot and but balanced by good acidity and a quite saline mineral , seashell tinged finish . Drinking well now and over the next 5-8 years. From a half bottle . — 7 days ago

Domaine Jean-Claude Marsanne

Saint-Joseph Syrah 2019

2019 vintage. As rustic as ever. Blood. Earth. Plum. Stems. Heavy body. A step or two above a solid workhorse but not flighty. Tremendous punch. Could be wrong but think this producer only does Saint Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage and both are great QPR. 10.30.24. — a month ago

So overlooked and it’s maybe the most classic old school St Jo since Trollat. And way better.

@Lyle Fass Love this producer. Obscenely underpriced and that is not something I can say often enough.

Domaine Pignard Beaujolais Gamay 2020

Medium ruby in color; cherry jolly ranchers, violets, and something fruity or floral I can't quite place; high acidity; medium minus tannins; tastes like pomegranates, bananas, and clay pots with a long finish. Nellie doesn't like it, but think she's just not a fan of gamay. I like it and so does Bri. Bri says it smells like Swedish Fish. — 6 months ago
