Well, isn’t this just special. A limited release celebrating the 130th anniversary of the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower. De Venoge’s Princes cuvées have possibly the most distinctive and striking presentations in all of wine. And yes, the champagne lives up to it.
A pale lemon color with glorious perlage and an innately creamy mousse. Pronounced blue fruit on the nose with a nice underpinning of fragrant herbs. Orange blossoms and toasty yeast. Sweet butter and ripe pears star along with some really nice floral aromas. Vanilla and honey after significant time in the glass.
A champagne that is refined and elegant to a wonderful degree. Equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Aged for five years on lees and released with a Brut dosage of 6 g/l. A more classic, aristocratic style of champagne that harkens back to an age of yesteryear. Restrained acidity and a very smooth mouthfeel and texture. The harmony here is delightful.
Almond slivers and lemon peel on the attractive and slightly generous palate. Fine minerality and a bit of blueberry. Bread crust, black currant, and limestone. The length here is fantastic and teases the tongue with a bit of warm spice. Truly fantastic, a one of a kind package that doesn’t disappoint. — 24 days ago
Absurd value from @wtso
Pnp let sat for an hour or so, initially very jammy but that blew off.
N: Dark red fruits verging on black, Amarena cherries, tobacco, earth, iron.
P: That sense of iron repeats, virtually no tannins, Sense of place, yes.
As another reviewer said, you could drink this down easy.
We’re still looking for complexity though. — 18 days ago

Quite smooth — a day ago
Brambly, blackberry, red fruit forward with some meatiness lurking behind, cinnamon, star anise, kicking acidity, long finish; a bit thinner than expected, but not in a detrimental way; a little hot. I mean, really long finish…unique, cool wine — 7 days ago
This wine’s lovely bramble pallet and forest floor nose paired well with chicken bourguignon. — 5 days ago
