MacRostie Winery & Vineyards

Sonoma Coast Chardonnay 2020

Yellow in color with a golden hue.

Nice nose of citrus, cedar, toast, vanilla, spices, golden apples and white pepper.

Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with oak, vanilla, citrus, apples, light pineapple, pears and light earth.

Tangy finish with limes and black pepper.

This is a tasty Chardonnay from Sonoma Coast. Refreshing and easy to drink. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Needs 15 minutes of airtime to remove some of the vanilla notes, and balance itself out.

Alcohol is well integrated, so you better watch out.

Good by itself or with food, and will be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.

100% Chardonnay grapes were aged in mostly French oak barrels for 6 months on their lees.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Trinité Estate

Acaibo Sonoma County Red Blend 2015

2015 vintage. Claire Villars and Gonzague Lurton started in Chalk Hill with the 2012 vintage. This 2015 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and the remainder Merlot. A bit oaky on first impact, but the fruit is more present the next day so decanting is recommended. Slightly jammy black fruit, with good acidity and length. A very good wine, if not in the same league as Ferrière (and more expensive, at least here in Bordeaux). An estate to watch nevertheless. — a month ago

Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014

This is a delicious Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast. Rich, complex and elegant.

Light burgundy in color with a wide reddish rim.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Showing red currants, cooked cherries, oak, light vanilla, spices, light vegetables, tobacco, chocolates, light barnyard, coffee and peppercorn.

This Single Vineyard is nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself as a sipping wine.

This 8 year old is peaking now, although it will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Thank you Scott for sharing.

Estate Bottled Chalk Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Pale lemon in color with a green hue.

Strong nose of gooseberries, citrus, limes, green apples, light grass, spices, minerals and white pepper.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and thick legs.

Dry on the palate with limes, lemons, green apples, grapefruits, bitter herbs, spices, light earth and black pepper.

Nice length on the finish with limes and grapefruits.

This is a very tasty Sauvignon Blanc from Chalk Hill in Sonoma County. Fruit forward and easy drinking.

Spicy, tangy and interesting. Crisp and refreshing.

Nicely balanced and good by itself or with food. A good pool wine as well.

Will pair nicely with oysters. I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 7% Sauvignon Gris and 3% Sauvignon Musqué. Aged for 7 months in (60%) French oak barrels and stainless steel vats.

14.6% alcohol by volume.
