Château Tour Du Foussat

Château Tour Saint-Christophe

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2017

Bright, fresh, mineral-driven example of TSC. At this young stage, give it an hour of air before the licorice, plum, black cherry, dark cocoa and earthy nuances start to show. Not as powerful or concentrated as the 2016 or 2018, the two surrounding vintages, but it's going to drink well earlier and it sells for a song! — 15 days ago

Château La Tour de Bessan

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Marie Laure Lurton is one of the 10 children of Lucien Lurton and she owns Château Villegeorge (Haut-Médoc) and this Château La Tour de Bessan. Both are very good and refined. The 2018 La Tour de Bessan (named after 13th century tower on the estate that is being restaured) is a blend of 60 % Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon and a rather high (11%) percentage of Petit Verdot. Dark red. In the nose a mix of red and black fruit, cedar and Petit Verdot violet. Margaux is mostly associated with elegance and this is a good example. The fruit is bright, the tannins are well-tamed and the acidity provides juiciness and balance. Intelligent winemaking with just the right extraction. Great value at 18 euros. Abv. 14,5 % but perfectly integrated. Another lovely 2018. — 18 days ago

Decanted for 30 minutes. Showing well in its youth but no rush and will improve with aging. BlackBerry, cedar, earthy, and eucalyptus notes. Very enjoyable. — a month ago

I think I rated this wine/year before. An excellent blend with the proper color, aroma and taste. Just what you would expect from a great Bordeaux. — 7 days ago

Tommaso Bussola

Ca' del Laito Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend 2016

One of the January ‘21 selections from Verve Wine’s Grand Tour subscription. Takes me back to Italy - like a great house wine this is better than the price point. Verve says go with pork ragu but we did Berkeley’s Cheese Board veggie pizza and it’s all there, it quenches and you want more, a perfect dinner wine. Love it. — 10 days ago
