We think something has changed at Montrose after the departure of Jean Bernard Delmas. Its not a bad wine by any means but the style is modern and extracted. At ten years this ie very drinkable and great quality but does not speak to its terroir as it used to. Hope its just one year… — a month ago
Couldn't resist opening up a bottle, first of 6 bought en primeur. It was my first en primeur programme that I bought into at the time, and this is the first bottle out of my cellar out of all my bdx that I have bought since at en primeur.
This is already drinking very well. Lots of cassis, sweet purple fruit and spices. Good acidity and freshness. — 8 days ago
2020 vintage. A blend of 49% Merlot,44% Cabernet Sauvignon,4% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. I tasted this at the estate during the primeur campaign, and it certainly does not disappoint in 2025. A good introduction to the incredible grand vin, La Dame is more Merlot dominated, and more approachable in its youth. Very refined and elegant, with impeccable purity of fruit, a silky mouthfeel, fresh balancing acidity, and a long finish. It's very hard to resist now, but it should age gracefully. Abv. 13,5%. — 15 days ago
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (54%), Merlot (34%) and Petite Verdot (12%). Dark ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of ripe plums, black olives, dark chocolate and smoky cedar. Black cherry and plum fruit flavors lead the palate with additional hints of cranberry, black pepper, graphite and tobacco. Long, mineral laiden and smoky finish. Mouth coating structure and very firm tannins. Vibrant acidity keeps this wine pretty well balanced here in its youth. Very powerful and concentrated. Will continue to improve with more bottle age. — a month ago
A 2nd respected wine label of Cos D’Estournel (a 2nd Growth of the 1855 Grand Cru Classification) with a blend of Cab Sauv at 44%, Merlot at 46,2%, Cab Franc at 5,8% and Petit Verdot at 4% brings out an opulent, intense, deep, yet refined and properly-balanced red. The V’15 is perfectly poised, seductive, and extremely enjoyable. Eruptive fruity, with powerful aromatics in baked red fruits. The level of ripeness and raisins in notably persistent. Pagodes V’15 seats among my top favorites from Saint-Estèphe sub-appellation that will never disappoints and/or falls short of expectations. Cheers! — a month ago
40 year old vines. Blend of Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. 13.5% abv. Feels so young for a 2016! Red berries, spice, raisin and fresh greens on the nose. Delicate palate, underripe raspberry and red currant, with a refined long herbal finish and bitter notes. Great soft, tingly tannins. Excellent Bordeaux, I have to say. St Julien style. I’m amazed at how fresh this tastes after almost a decade. — 10 days ago

2022 vintage. Even better than 7 months ago. The magic of the vintage is obvious here. Black and red fruits, flowers and a distinctive mineral note. Exemplary purity of fruit, fresh and refined, with the silkiest tannins ever for this estate. Long, mineral finish. A very impressive wine that sells for a song. Abv. 14%. — 3 days ago
