We are totally out of the usual landmarks with this pretty Merlot de Loire, in a nature spirit that drinks beautifully well. In addition to plum, unexpected floral notes, bark and infused herbs tend towards caramel. It is supple, silky, fine and deep. Curious to see how it will evolve over 3.5 years. Winemaker to watch.
Easy drinker. Not too acidic. No wine headache — a month ago
My daughter turns 10 today and to celebrate we popped this bottle of 20 year old wine.
It's showing a bit of age as there's a brickish rim around the glass and the nose shows tertiary aromas with mushrooms and wet forest soil. Upon opening, black currant and raspberry could still be felt but it faded away since then. There is still tar and a tiny bit of oak in there too. The palate is well designed with a good acid drive, some tangy, black fruits notes, some width, a lively mouthfeel with a bit of grain that leaves a drying, dusty layer over a rather long fruity finish with a pinch of oak. 20 years old and kicking 👍🏻 we had it along ribs we grilled and it did go quite well. — 8 months ago
Superb Muscadet, mineral but not too acidic. Thin, light, complete bouquet. The oppositions blend perfectly in a very coherent wine. Winemaker to watch.
Superbe Muscadet, minéral mais pas trop acide. Bouquet fin, léger, complet. Les oppositions se marient à merveille au sein d’un vin très cohérent. Vigneron à surveiller. — 9 months ago

Saint Emilion Bordeaux - beautiful, fruit forward, nice spice and tobacco notes. Full bodied with a long finish. — 9 months ago
2020 Daniel Bouland Bellevue Cailloux Morgon - Gamay from Beaujolais. This is a medium to full bodied wine. Bouland wines are described as defiantly deep, dark, country-style reds with plenty of grip and overflowing with personality. These are wines that are built for the long hall, unlike so many of the region’s wines. I describe this wine as brilliant and delicious. This wine is drinking nicely even without bottle age.
Once again, Beaujolais because they can be deliciously beautiful. Casualness in a bottle with a touch of class. Also can’t beat the QPR on some of these, especially this one. — a year ago
