A blend of 92% Merlot & 8% Cab Franc, elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé in 2012, deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits, complex spice and notes of forest floor. On the palate flavors blackberry and black cherry with notes of cacao, espresso and licorice. Fine smooth tannins, great mouthfeel, long finish ending with toasty cedar notes and earthy mineral character. Just starting to show beautifully and will for next decade. Nice! — 2 years ago
Fruit forward with dark black fruits, a round body with soft tannins, warm and toasty on a winter day, perfect for curling up with a movie. — 5 months ago

2019 vintage. Calicem might well be Saint-Emilion's best kept secret. Tasted it several times and was always blown away. This time I tasted it alongside the extraordinary Larcis Ducasse 2019, which proves my point that Calicem is definitely of Premier Grand Cru quality ( in case the classification is still a thing after Cheval Blanc, Ausone and a few others left). — 7 months ago
Dark fruits, olives, loads of minerality, cedar, cassis, brambly fruit and nice acid. — 2 years ago

In the nose this Château Larcis Ducasse 2009 offers an inviting and complex bouquet. Primary aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, and dark cherries are prominent. These are complemented by secondary notes of cedar, tobacco, and a hint of graphite. As the wine opens up, it reveals layers of truffle, leather, and sweet spices such as cinnamon and cloves. This simply is a great nose
In the mouth the palate is rich, full-bodied, and beautifully balanced. The wine displays an impressive structure with silky, well-integrated tannins. Flavors of blackcurrant, plum, and black cherry dominate, supported by nuances of dark chocolate, espresso, and earthy undertones. This is a real treat because it’s so easy drinking.
The finish is long, smooth, and elegant, lingering with notes of dark fruit, vanilla, and a touch of smokiness.
Overall this wine is an exemplary wine from Saint-Émilion, showcasing the best characteristics of the vintage and type of wine, mine kind of a wine 😋. It is a wine of depth, complexity, and refinement, so no regrets here 💪. — 20 days ago
