Second take on this pauillac made by grand puy Ducasse. The nose is intense upon opening with black currant, cedar, cigar, even chocolate. Exquisite. The palate is nice too. Very strong acid backbone and some matter on the sides. Currant, width, a silky layer. Fine tannins to kick things up a bit before a nice curranty, cedary, long lasting finish. Not at grand cru level but still a very enjoyable pauillac. Highly recommended.

It's rather a good surprise. Then I took a look at the label and it reads that it was bottled by the S.C.C.G.P.D. Company, owner in pauillac. Then I looked it up on the internet. Not much except for the info that it was the name of the current Château Grand Puy Ducasse back in the 1855 years when the Bordeaux classification took place. It was actually château grand puy ducasse artigues Arnaud. Then I searched further and understood that S.C.C.G.P.D. means société civile du château grand puy ducasse. Fun fact : there is no trace whatsoever of this artigues Arnaud château on the grand puy ducasse website.
And that's a pity cause it's quite an interesting pauillac! I've had worse grand cru classés !
Black currant and cedar and cigar on the nose. Classic good pauillac nose. Very balanced palate with a strong acid backbone and currant all along. Some cedar touches too, some grip, a nice mouth feel like silk a bit and a very very long finish with currant, meat a bit, salt someway and cedar for a really really long while. For real a real treat when compared to much better known estates!
