There’s village Burgundy and then there’s Roumier Chambolle-Musigny! 2016 is in a perfect spot, ushering in secondary complexity at age nine in a captivating perfume synonymous with the Domaine, and a structured, but silky mineral inflicted palate with fine grained tannins. Roumier always hits 🫰🏻 — 2 days ago
Great bottle! No 🐞 problem with this one. Quite complex and in a very good way right now. — 18 days ago
How did this sneak in here? Considering our penchant for the Rhône, it’s almost inevitable that something like this was getting opened. Popped and poured, the 1997 “La Turque” pours a deep ruby/purple color with a slightly hazy, near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe slightly wizened black and ted fruits: black brambles, black cherry, strawberry, smoked and spiced meat, olives, purple flowers, black pepper, dried herbs, rocky earth, fine wood and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. While this may not be my favorite expression of Côte Rôtie, it is undeniably delicious after nearly 30 years. It still has a long life ahead. Drink now through 2042. — a month ago
Medium lemon colour . Very little perlage . This is quite mature on the nose with some orange rind , touch of honied brioche , dried chanterelles and some oyster shell . Some roasted almond , really quite intense on the palate , high refreshing mineral tinged acidity , orange peel , nutty , slightly honied long and quite electric finish. This holds up pretty well in the glass becoming more chalky and mineral. Drink now and over the next few years, at least on this showing . — 18 days ago

Cherry confit nose with balsamic violets. Soy attack. Some energy and firm tannin (from oak?). Beautiful finish. — 2 days ago
