Medium golden color. Very expressive aromas of rose petals, honeysuckle, melon, orchids and Asian spices. Flavors of apricot, peaches, tropical fruit, honey and ginger. Nice touches of mandarin orange and minerals on the long and elegant finish. Pleasant viscous/oily texture. Subtle acidity but still very well balanced. So complex, concentrated and bold but also very harmonious. — 7 months ago
2023/3. Wild, woodsy red fruit, flowers and their stems and a touch of spice on the nose. Translucent stony fruit in the mouth - the acidity feels a little low (due to the vintage) but instead of feeling blowsy it comes across as alkaline - like burgundy made with Contrex. — 3 years ago
2006 vintage. The first vintage for Caroline Frey to be in charge. This shows beautifully now for a wine that was totally underrated by Robert Parker on release. While it may not have the depth and power of the greatest vintages of this iconic wine, this 2006 is a terrific wine in it's own right. Complex nose with spices, black fruit, tobacco and cedar. In the mouth it is beautifully balanced with bright acidity embracing layers of black fruit and spices and velvety tannin. Impressive length too. Abv. 14%. — 4 years ago
Dinner Halsey - Mark and Karen - balance of acidity / lemon - green apples - loved it. — 5 years ago
Barrel (Used) aged Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc white blend. Light silver/yellow color with green highlights. Aromas of orchard fruit, white flowers, citrus and a hint of vanilla. Flavors of white peach, gooseberries, lemon/lime, green apple and pineapple fruit with hints of mint and spices. Touch of minerals on the long and crisp finish. Electric acidity and 13% ABV. Slightly creamy texture and a bit of heft from the neutral oak aging. Bold and complex. — 2 months ago
2022 vintage. A blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. This biodynamic estate goes from strength to strength in the capable hands of Caroline Frey. In this exceptional vintage La Lagune honours its reputation as the finest wine in the Haut-Médoc appellation. Black fruit, flowers, cedar and subtle spices. A thick mouth feel, with layers of succulent fruit, spices, and a powerful structure of what might be the most velvety tannins ever for this estate. As usual it displays that unique aromatic and elegant character that I describe as somewhere between Margaux and Pessac-Léognan. Impressive depth and length. A strong contender for the title of best La Lagune ever. — 2 years ago

This was extremely enjoyable til I spilled my glass all over @Caroline Graham like a goddam yokel! Klutz life notwithstanding, this is bright and delightful, will be getting again soon. — 5 years ago

Full-bodied Rosé tasting of cream, vanilla, and white fruit. An extraordinary and more complex Rosé than I have had generally had.
