Canon Fronsac, Libournais

Château La Vieille Cure

Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Pop and pour (practically) — can’t be helped.

NOSE: something savory, blackberry, and a little violet. Mild clove. A little clay. Something…Mexican?

TASTE: juicy, purple cassis and clay. Fresh and tasty. The kind of wine I like, basically. Blueberry pie after air. 93.

Croix Canon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Great effort in this not so great vintage.
Well-balanced, soft, supple, lovely fruit, some stemmy/green notes of course, some spices and minerals as well and sufficient stuffing and body to boot.

2018 Vintage - 100% Merlot at of Fronsac aged in cement cuvée for 12 months - certainly a controversial wine to me not a great wine to have on its own ( vegetative and acidic) but is nice with charcuterie has other interesting aromatics berry/ cherry fruit nice earthy character — a year ago

Château de la Dauphine

Fronsac Merlot Cabernet Franc 2018

Vintage 2018 | paired with venison steak, chicory stewed in beer and baked potatoes | 4 h in decanter | beautiful red fruit in smell, tobacco and hint of chocolate. A bit tough taste, nice, but will develop further. Seems a little restricted in this stage. — 2 months ago
