Whoa! Whoa!

No sediment, so I popped and poured. Explosive nose has super-deep, pure spicy blackberry Zin fruit. Purity of fruit is a hallmark (in my experience) of Ridge’s Dusi Ranch cuvée. There’s also a bit of clove from the American oak, but it’s pretty subtle. Great intensity of flavor in the mouth, with a soft, enveloping texture. It’s big, at 14.8%, but it’s balanced. And keeping things under 15 in Paso is challenging. Terrific wine. Yummo. — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 Pagani Ranch pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart black and red fruits: mixed bramble fruit, black cherry, black pepper, red flowers, tobacco, warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Yum. — 10 days ago
Oh so nice. A beautiful wine with wonderful raspberry and blackberry notes. A smooth finish. Delicious — a month ago
Oops... Opened this in error, thinking it was $18.99. it isn't. 2018 absolutely delicious Rosē. Was perfect with Toblerone. — 2 months ago

Bigger deeper notes for a Zin with coffee, blackberry, and leather. Some stronger tannins but not a total alcohol bomb at 14.3% — 2 months ago

Still quite primary darkfruit aromas and flavors, moderately harsh tannins as well, for me, typical of the early to mid-1980s Montelena Cabernets that had some harsh, tannic edges, should live for 10+ years easily, but I doubt it will ever be charming, solid Napa Cabernets that had, and should pair nicely with some New Zealand farm-raised medallions of venison I’m about to grill. — 25 days ago
