Blend of Tempranillo (85%), Graciano (10%) and Mazuelo (5%) that has hit its peak. Medium ruby color. Complex aromas of ripe red and black fruit, leather and a bevy of spices. Black cherry and tobacco flavors with nice notes of vanilla and black pepper. Just a hint of balsamic vinegar on the long and lingering finish. Velvety tannins. Medium-plus body and excellent balance. Outstanding quality for the price. — 5 months ago

100% Tempranillo crafted by Asúa Winery located in the town of Haro, La Rioja, Spain, an area known for its unique clay soils rich in calcium and iron. This particular winery focuses on small batch production runs to ensure each bottle receives the care and attention in the vineyards and the cellar.
The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, it has an amazing purple in hue. On the nose has some decent reductive aromas featuring plums and blackberry with a noticeable oaky layer. On the mouth the supple tannins and juicy on the fruit-forward complements the elongated finish.
A wine style that never disappoints and give you a tremendous run for the money! — 5 months ago

After a decant, this 2016 opened up like a CDP blanc-- could fool for a Marsanne, lots of beeswax, honey, and candied citrus peel. Lovely textures, long finish with wet granite notes. Beautiful wine for $20 — 5 months ago

CvNE’s Grand Reserva and the Imperial Reserva are two of my go-to Rioja.
Aromas of dried cherry, tobacco, and leather mingle with ripe plum, vanilla, and subtle toast. On the palate, it shows both savory depth and sleek fruit purity, framed by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity. Earthy spice and mineral tones anchor its Old World core, while polished oak and plush fruit nod to New World opulence.
This bottle has matured gracefully and will have another 5 years peak drinking window. — 2 days ago
