Zoom. 24 hrs open (chilled) and hitting gorgeous apricot notes, honeysuckle blossom, and a little canned peach nectar, a champagne-like aftermath - brioche! from where? - then acidic mouthwatering waterfall of a finish. perfect quarantine companion - so long as you have nothing much else to do! — 6 years ago
This is the 2009 Chateau de Chantegrive. Graves, Podensac. A blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon.
On the nose is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, oak, smoke, iron, granite and dark rich earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, blaxk currant, green bell pepper, minerality and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a velvety smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium+ smooth rounded plush tannins that takes you to a long black fruit mineral finish. 2023 vintage. This is the white "Quille" Graves from Château de Cérons. Fyi, a "quille" is a bowling pin ( hence the label), but also a glass of wine in the local dialect, so I was told today. We learn every day! Easy drinking Graves, mainly from Sémillon. Nice value. — 15 days ago
