Broken Crown

Patz & Hall

Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

Pure black cherry fruit complemented by earth and forest floor. A medium plus palate with great roundness without excessive richness at 13.5% ABV. This is a cooler climate site and definitely a favorite of mine. — 17 days ago

A property I have visited & still have in my collection.

A well made Oregon Pinot. Just moved past this extracted & slightly sweeter style. My palate just doesn’t enjoy it as much these days.

Broken Stones Paso Robles Syrah Blend 2019

Very good Syrah blend. Edgy and peppery. High alcohol content. First time with this wine for me. Needed a good hour plus of decant to open and soften. Drank very well. A bit too smoky and rustic to rank higher but very solid. — 22 days ago

Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2013

Definitely need a moment to catch his breath. It opened up the chewy and savory fruit and wonderful structure, but it actually faded pretty quickly, after an hour the wine started to lose of its life and all of those flavors sort of simmer down into just a good ripe round juicy Pinot. But for about 45 minutes there there’s a window where this wine was absolutely delicious. — 9 months ago
