It’s beautiful and French in the way that only the French can be. — 10 months ago
Brought by a friend from his cellar. Popped and poured. The 2016 “Les Charmes Dessus” pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with rather powerful notes of tropical fruits: pineapple and passion fruit with some lemons, honeysuckle, caramel, limestone minerals and subtle baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and grippy, slightly chalky. There is a very attractive, creamy texture too. A very lovely wine that works pretty darned well with octopus carpaccio. Drink now through 2031. — 9 months ago

Nose of nuts, brioche, vanilla, apples, and light citrus. On the palate, rich lemon and slight grapefruit, cooked apples, toast, vanilla. Excellent balance. 2015 vintage in 2024. — 9 months ago
