I don’t get to drink it often, but Meursault is my white wine jam. This one is very nice. Nose has oatmeal, wet clay, limestone, a little note of toasty hazelnut, crisp apple skin fruit. Very round and soft and full in the mouth. Deep flavors. Ideally, I’d love a bit more squeeze-o’-lemon acid drive, but it’s a 2020 and this is the age of climate warming. And for a ‘20 the acids are pretty nice. This’ll do just fine tonight. — a month ago

The smoke hasn’t cleared on this battle worn soldier. Really strong sense of gun powder! Volatilize, and peeks of lime pith or lemon verbena squeeze through the cracks like light in your lashes, revealing pepper and pecan shell, black mushroom spores and elm, with cigar sweetness and black lime on a smoky battlefield. Palate is lime pith and zest and oil and candied lime sparkles floating down a lemon juice river, with thick, thick lemon pith banks. Kind of a gangly age here, but showing depth and intensity. Need to see this one when it matures, sculpted like an Olympian.

Very nice aged red burg. Subtle and delicate. Had it with cast iron sausage lasagna, and it didn’t qnite hold up. Better with something lighter. Showed much better on day 2. — 2 years ago
