The 2021 Mazèr Valtellina Superiore DOCG 2021 from Valtellina pours a bright garnet and opens with lifted aromas of red currant, cranberry, rhubarb, and orange peel layered with subtle notes of anise, cedar, and alpine herbs. On the palate it’s medium-bodied and elegant, with lively acidity and firm, chalky tannins that frame flavors of tart red berries, licorice, and a touch of earth and spice. The finish is savory and mineral-driven, showing the cool alpine character of 100% Nebbiolo (locally called Chiavennasca) with a clean, persistent structure that should continue to evolve nicely over the next several years. 🍷 — 6 months ago

This is a lovely prosecco that I can actually enjoy on its own rather than in an amaro spritz or mimosa. Effusive nose with nice citrus and floral aromas. Lemon bar, florals, and hints of almond praline on the palate, and the bubbles provide a creamy mouthfeel. Good finish with lingering floral notes. — 2 months ago
Medium purple; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe black fruit, blackberry, black plum, plum skin, pomegranate, bramble, vanilla, baking spices, leather; dry, medium acid, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium finish, rich dark fruit with heavy oak flavors, oak flavors dominate a bit, but very good — 7 years ago

Such rustic and funky wine! Love it. Pale color, forest floor, red fruits, and foxy. Good acidity and saline taste, medium length. Decant it at least an hour. — 4 years ago
