Enjoyed this for years, but hadn’t seen it in a while and realized they changed their label - big time. Still great QPR: Tempranillo but darker fruit profile, licorice, earthy, swarthy, musky w/vanillin notes as well. Great complexity, enticing nose - equally delightful on palate, darker fruit but more like black cherry. Sturdy tannins, not elegant but provincial w/decent balance - just enough acidity to make it food friendly for charcuterie. — 4 months ago

Luna Vineyards Napa Valley Merlot 1997: Medium-bodied. Smooth tannins. Well integrated acidity. Dark cherry. Raspberry. Prune. Plum. Menthol. Earth. Gentle oak. Soft lingering finish. Overall, a fantastic 25 year old wine. Beautifully developed over time and still displayed great fruit flavors & aromas. Aged to perfection and paired perfectly with the baseball cut Filet Mignon. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with tobacco, oak and garden herbs. Medium+ finish, chalky tannins, savory, ending with herbs, spice, cedar and slight fruit, savory. Smells so delicious, like a fruit yogurt

This drinks like it is fresh, with blackberry bramble, subtle and unique red fruits tucked behind the leather ones.

Still stunning after some aging, with a nose of fresh apple cider and nutty notes, and surprisingly good legs. The color is surprisingly more akin to a Chardonnay, with golden hues, and a crisp apple flavor, medium body, and a lingering minerality of wet stone on the finish. The palate has starfruit, a little fresh papaya, and a gentle acidity. Truly a special wine. — 3 years ago
