Translucent red in colour and beautifully aetheric on the nose. Sappy, fresh, light cherries, a bit of cranberry, a whiff of tree bark and a bit of undergrowth. Very fresh & bright.
On the palate this is light, with very fine, feather light tannins, juicy acidity, fruity yet not sweet. Raspberries & wild strawberries galore with a savoury touch towards the finish.
Very light, perhaps a touch, too light, juicy, enticing. And very, very nice. — 2 years ago
First Swiss Pinot Noir I’ve had. It’s easy drinking - cherry cola, dried roses, slight earthiness. Nice — 4 years ago
First dinner with AV1 group and first bottle ordered. One of two “house wines”, good balance on nose and palate, not complex but let’s not set the bar too high! Went ok with monk fish! — 6 months ago
The 2022 Pinot Noir Meczan is remarkably pretty. Dusty rose and lavender tones complement wild strawberries. Juicy textures, ripe wild berry fruits, orange zest and tactile mineral tones sweep across the palate. The Meczan tapers off fresh, nearly crunchy in feel, with medium length. $16.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2024) — 10 months ago
Lighter than a sauvignon blanc.

Very nice German Pinot Noir or Blauburgunder.
Notes of rhubarb, strawberries, jam and leather. A bit of a bite at first but mellower with a little time opened and with food.
Crab cakes, shrimp, asparagus and risotto. Chocolate cookie with salt to finish.

Pinot Nero bevuto a Natale a casa di papà, comprato da loro sul lago di Caldaro, eccezionale — a year ago
Jermann ‘Blau & Blau’ Rosso 2012: Medium-bodied. Impeccable balance. Nicely integrated tannins with the right level of acidity. The color was bright ruby red and the aromas were red fruit dominate. Tasting notes of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, herbs, earth, oak & smoke. Dry elegant finish. What an outstanding, unique Northern Italian blend of Blaufränkisch (Franconia in Italy or Lemberger in Germany) & Blauburgunder (Pinot Nero in Italy or Pinot Noir in France). Bought this several years ago at an enoteca in Bellaria, Italia due to the attractive pink label and tonight was the night it would be set free & consumed. Long story short, loved every drop; it was funky. It was fun. It was memorable. Highly recommend. Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago

I’ve had Wegelin’s Brut and Chardonnay before, but this is my first red (Blauburgunder = Pinot Noir). Very nice! Quite closed and overly young at first, but it starts to open quickly. Tart cherry and currant, focused acidity and mineral dryness. Medium body, 13% abv. Tasting it with Bresaola, which is similar to Bündnerfleisch from Graubünden. Perfect pairing! Will see how this develops. @Lyle Fass
Follow up a couple hours later: the fruit shows much more with dry blueberries and raspberries under the acidity. Prime drinking after 3+ hours. — 8 days ago
