Bethel Heights

Estate grown Riesling 2016

Light golden in color, excellent clarity. Diesel and pine notes in nose. Crisp, almost dry, citric finish, good Riesling flavor profile with stone fruit, mandarin notes as mentioned on label. Moderate skin astringency with slight lactic character in finish. After an hour, some lime flavor emerges. Last vintage as these vines are being budded over to other varieties. Pity that; we need to be buying and drinking more American Rieslings, people! — a month ago

Estate Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay 2014

Just a beautiful wine in a great place. So soft and restrained at 13.3% alc. Some richness from 20% new oak, but very well balanced and elegant with some lengthy minerality on the finish. Very pure. — 2 months ago

Lomax Reserve Virgina Red Wine 2012

Paired with grub at Maggie’s, we enjoyed the energy and structure to this red meat dance partner. In a general way, this had that cherry coke silhouette. A great restaurant offering :) — a month ago

Yarden Syrah 2008

Выпито в Обнинске 14.08.19. Безумно нежное и мягкое послевкусие. Шедевр! Никогда не скажешь, что 15% алкоголя. Никогда ! — a month ago

Yalumba

The Menzies Coonawara Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

After some travel and euro wines, the Aussie menthol / eucalypt in this jumped out at me. Love it. Earthy, savoury, less red fruited than I remember, ripe but balanced, fine tannin leaving a dry finish. After 3 or 4 hours the leatheriness had developed nicely, my last glass was the best, although not quite the heights of the prior vintage. — 18 days ago
