An outstanding Rhone (100% syrah) at this price ($65 off restaurant list). A pronounced earth/barnyard nose that was interesting and appealing. Good depth on the palate. Bastille Kitchen with Joel and Lisa. — 7 years ago
Celebrating Bastille Day with the spring dinner of the Confrerie St Etienne of Alsace association. Wonderful menu and perfectly paired wines.
Wow. Leave it to the dessert wine to run away with Wine of the Night! Honeyed cashews, honeyed stone fruits, guava, pineapple, caramel and honeycomb. Like a lighter version of Dolce. Insanely good! On the hunt for some of this. Thought of you @Greg Ballington since it’s a South African wine! — 8 years ago

Ahhh!!! Can't think of a better N/V Rosé champagne to toast Bastille Day! A little fun fact, Napoleon celebrated all his victories with Moet & Chandon and always at Moet & Chandon. Happy Bastille Day...Frenchmen & Americans alike! Happy 100th! Cheers! 💥 🎉🍾 — 9 years ago
Tons of minerals on the nose that come through on the palate, light and crisp with barely ripe green pear tartness and flavors, and all those lingering minerals.

Love this Bordeaux blend. The smell is awesome - lightly sweet - and I love the dryness of the wine on the palate. Still a little bit of fruit though, which I like. Great for our Bastille Day cheese board (except for the salmon eggs - it highlighted their strong salt flavor) and would buy again for a French-themed meal. — 6 years ago

Brown sugar, dark berry, sweet at first taste ... Perfect. Bastille Day 2017 — 9 years ago

Vintage 2014 / I wanted a classic French wine in honour of Bastille Day. Decanted two hours in advance.. Developed very well in the last 24 months. Classic smell with laurel, chocolate, forrestwood. Well balanced taste. If the vintner can make such a good wine in’14 how will the wine taste from a great year? Interesting domaine in Graves to follow. / Paired with a Boeuf Brochette and cheeses. — 7 years ago

Mainly cab/Syrah, with a splash of Malbec. Unique. Could pick out the inky and muddled blackberries of the Malbec easily. The Syrah provided more tart rhubarb and violets as opposed to darker/meatier Napa Syrahs. Heavy on the mid palate. Juicy and extracted finish of red and black fruits. — 8 years ago

This wine was delicious--light, acidic, a little gravelly and meaty. Bought at La Buvette, paired perfectly with singing La Marseillaise on the Champs de Mars on Bastille Day. — 9 years ago

A bit young, but shows lots of potential. Very enjoyable already with Brie and French bread. Perfect for Bastille Day. — a year ago
