Terrific smokey aromas smothered in berries and cherries. Refined wildness. So floral and precise. Clear. Tiny berry fruit intensity and a lipstick like intensity. Woodland berry a forest aromas and a wonderful indescribable Alpine aromas. Just spectacular. The clarity is just amazing here. Palate is brilliant. Grippy and tanning but juicy and elegant. Nerds air but it’s still gentle but also commanding and what a fruit soak on the finish. Amazingly long finish. Switzerland continues to impress. I’ll be back. A hint of sweet raspberry jam on the nose but only a hint and so engaging. Adds so much. — 3 months ago

Riehen le petit sauvignon (sauvignon blanc).

Nose: wow. Yeasty. Briochy. Almost like champagne. There is something very complete about this.

Palate : dense. Rich. Good acidity. Amazing wine. Maybe the best sauvignon blanc I’ve ever had.

I love this estate. Grassy nose of wild flowers, green apple, some minerals but a bit muted and quiet. It will come around. But the palate is where the party is at. Great acidity that is perfectly interwoven with the gorgeous grassy and wild flower infused fruit and finishes with extraordinary spice. Really awesome texture and ballerina like balance. This is terrific but needs a few hours. I will be back. As the airs the fruit starts to develop on the back end.

Gorgeous aromas. Mid season sweet cherry fruit, spices, some gorgeous sweet oak, wet earth, florals and aromas that penetrate deep in the nasal cavity. Almost some barely ripe blackberry and cassis. Really a whole world of difference than last August. Just silly good aromas. Palate is ripe and juicy with a lithe, silky texture. Awesome purity and balance and such haunting delicacy. Sweet fruit and so nimble this is shockingly great. I vastly underrated this last time. Sweet, lithe and ripe tannins. This is stunning and achingly beautiful. 9.6 for now. Let’s see what air does to this. — 7 months ago
