San Luigi Dolcetto di Dogliani 2020

100% Dolcetto. Bright ruby red color. Aromas and flavors of ripe strawberry and black cherry, plums, red and purple flowers as well as sweet spices. Earthy, spicy and nutty notes on the finish. Mouth watering acidity and very light (barely noticeable) tannins. Fruit forward, simple and basic. Solid. — a month ago

Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

Bright, delicate and feels way lighter than it is. Too young, but still a very good Barolo for us impatient people. — 6 months ago

Abbona Langhe Nebbiolo 2021

Was excited to try this 21 langhe Nebbiolo from marchesi de Barolo. Not bad but doesn’t quite have the nice fruit, dried flower, and tannin/acid profile of other 21s I’ve had. Nice on the nose though. — 5 months ago

Valle dell'Olmo Langhe Favorita 2019

As far as white varieties from Piemonte are concerned, I tend to encounter Arneis more often than Favorita but this was a very welcome way to change things up! The 2019 “Valle dell’olmo”brings a fascinating nose of confected kiwi, orange pith, white pepper and some toe jam. The wine is dry with medium+ acid. Medium+ finish. Drinking really nice right now and can’t really see the purpose in aging it though it would likely hold easily for a few years. — 6 months ago
