A real winner! Unlike all the other younger Barolo this one is at the peak for my taste, that gentle rounded texture with red fruited complexity undergirded by a steely core that’s lively and dancing all the way down. — 9 months ago

Brezza Barolo Nebbiolo 2018

A classic, even traditional Barolo - tart, aetheric, cherry & violet scented, tannic (juicy!) and savoury.
Highly drinkable already - the 2018 vintage showing here not in ripe fullness but in approachability.
Such a brilliant food wine.

Light bodied slightly frizzante - well balanced, fruit, spice, slight tang. Really nice! Leith got at The Wine Store! Would love to get again — 7 months ago

Parusso

Barolo Nebbiolo 2010

Delectable: The producer is Armando Parusso. Light to mid crimson in colour. Unusually light for a Barolo. A nose of red fruits and surprisingly bruised strawberries. The palate showing savoury earthy notes with that strawberry note - a touch of tar. Finishing with very silky tannins - silkier than I expected from a 15 year old Barolo. This usually happens at 20 plus years in my experience. A lovely Barolo I bought in Alba at an excellent wine shop called Grande Vini. There is a Parusso Barolo in the 1001 wines book but it is from Bussia, unlike this Cuvée. A different sort of Barolo with that bruised strawberry character but thoroughly enjoyable. If you have any in the cellar you could enjoy over the next few years. — 9 months ago

@Andrew Cullimore Absolutely Andrew. I bought some bottles which I hadn’t seen in Australia or were significantly cheaper than in Australia.

It’s still lives! So surprised that this was still kicking, with a nice acidity and smoky meatiness on the palate, with hints of marinated cherry (in like, brandy), tar, and the color of Port! The nose still notes of fruit even, with plum, smoke, spice, and Tiva says, “an old movie theatre, or magician’s room”. After a couple hours, the ripe red fruits were exploding out of the glass still, with velvet and even florals hinted on the acidic palate. The meaty, iron flavors lingerrrr. — 2 years ago
