Parusso
Barolo Nebbiolo
Delectable: The producer is Armando Parusso. Light to mid crimson in colour. Unusually light for a Barolo. A nose of red fruits and surprisingly bruised strawberries. The palate showing savoury earthy notes with that strawberry note - a touch of tar. Finishing with very silky tannins - silkier than I expected from a 15 year old Barolo. This usually happens at 20 plus years in my experience. A lovely Barolo I bought in Alba at an excellent wine shop called Grande Vini. There is a Parusso Barolo in the 1001 wines book but it is from Bussia, unlike this Cuvée. A different sort of Barolo with that bruised strawberry character but thoroughly enjoyable. If you have any in the cellar you could enjoy over the next few years.
