Takes a little while to open up, so decant this one. Super gulpable once it's had time to get its bearings in the glass. Flavors of prunes and dried figs with notes of cured meats, herbs, and coriander — 9 years ago

Tasted blind. Quite deep , almost opaque garnet , terracotta core , browning rim . Quite high toned nose , dried earth , touch of liquorice spice , meaty dark cherries , touch of coffee, menthol hints . On the palate this is quite dense and dark meaty fruits , quite sweet anis tinged dark fruits . Quite high acidity and rather gritty tannins . Slightly dried herbal finish of ok length . Quite austere and forceful in style. This did improve somewhat in the glass but never lost its slightly dusty , rustic style . For drinking now and over the next 5 years , I don’t see this improving much from here . — 7 months ago
