Deep, brambly, dark berry fruit on the nose, dark flowers, blueberry, pine resin, alpine flowers and so much more. Awesome alpine nose. Amazing tangy and juicy blackberry fruit. Rustic tannins but somewhat refined. Delicious. So juicy and alive. Terrific.
24 hour update - so juicy and compact on the palate. Stunning freshness and depth. Awesome. 9.2 to 9.3. — 3 days ago
Spice and bright fruit abound. Not the best pairing for salmon, but worked in a pinch. — 6 days ago
Bellissimo! This blew the doors off: inky w/gorgeous aromas of foresty woodland berries, darker fruit, spice, pepper, lavender & garrigue… intriguing beguiling. Med to lighter weight but wore it well with lip-smacking dark berries and warm spices on palate. Finish was a bit disjointed but I’d like to revisit in a year or 2. Bump for QPR — 20 days ago
Medium ruby; medium plus intensity aromas of alpine strawberry, red currant, red cherry, wild herbs, lightly floral; dry, medium plus acid, medium minus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; lovely, light, perfumed and spicy — a month ago
Mineral nose, iodine, lemon, green apple and fennel. Nice freshness, bit short on the palate. — 10 days ago
This actually ended up being a really interesting Thanksgiving wine. 40% Gamay, 40% Chardonnay, and 20% Mondeuse. It ends the white or red question with a “How about both?” Light, high acid. Citrus, cranberry. Simple, but highly drinkable. Allows the food and company to take center stage. — a month ago
