Cool clear gold colour, nectarine, gooseberry, subtle acidity, honey crisp apple jelly, medium to long finish — 5 years ago
Nose has ripe plum, mashed blackberries, dark chocolate powder, strawberry jam on leather, molasses, molasses cookies, wet soil, nutmeg and vanilla bean.
Palate has blackberry compote, black cherry reduction, partially dried plum, wet baking spice, wet+dry leather, dark chocolate shavings, (light) oak/vanilla influence remains. Extended finish, really starting to pick up incredibly at 3-4H in the decanter.
Paired with Allen Bros. ribcap (USDA Prime version) tonight, unfortunately our grill has a 4ft. snow drift in front presently so the best I can muster was a super hot cast iron pan from the oven, then onto stove with lots of butter and in 7m total we had beef to die for...Which I had some competition for dining this evening.
This bottle was a very generous gift from my West Coast brother @David T from earlier in the year. My work travel schedule was hectic and never found a good time to settle in on a weekend with the wine or pairing, until now. (I've lost track of the amount of COVID tests I've done in the past 5M, but all have been negative 🙏 to date.) A fabulous gift to enjoy now that I'm hopefully relaxing for the next 2w...

Not a great bordeaux but a great average bordeaux if you get my drift. Well balanced, not too acidic, pleasant tannins and none of that fruity nonsense that messes up a good claret. — 6 years ago
Always such a great Zin.
Smells of sticky jam berry.
Spicy boysenberry, Pomegranate juice, Eucalyptus, medium bodied, a touch of fruit pie, great acid to tannin drift.
Still a great Zin.
A shame good Zins have become such rarities.

Surprised by its youthfulness…dark ruby in glass with no bricking…blackberry and black cherry drift from glass and onto palate. — 4 years ago
This Super Tuscan blend includes Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. The bouquet is intense but you know it’s going to be terrific. Long legs drift slowly down the glass. This Tuscan sourced red has flavors of blackberry and spice, and the finish is the real reward. Fantastic!! — 5 years ago
Maybe the pettiest white wine in the glass I've seen, hauntingly pale. It's got great acid, lots of tart peach, beautiful texture -- feels like it keeps changing long after a sip. I'd lodge where this Naomi lodges, if you catch my drift. #oldtestamentjoke — 6 years ago
Dark ruby, juicy fruit experience...dark cherries aromatics drift easily from glass, inviting you to freely slip this rich Pinot — 6 years ago
Still a baby but already extraordinary. The wine is straightforward and true to its terroir, to the nose it is elegant and complex, it makes you drift away with your thoughts. Secondary and tertiary aromas are coming forward after any sip. In the mouth it surprises you with its strength, and shows powerful tannins, freshness and acidity. It certainly has many more years ahead. Olek has a natural approach to farming, the impressive work he himself does in the vineyard is put in value with his respectful winemaking style. He proposes a really classy interpretation for his rich nebbiolo fruit. For this bottle, we decanted short before drinking. — 7 years ago
Spot on with that Oregon feelin, if you catch my drift. — 4 years ago

Pearly spicy pear... so fresh and so clean clean. Dry with just enough sweet bite. Clearly I don’t know how to speak wine notes but you get my drift... 😂🙏👏 — 6 years ago
This is the drift rows single vineyard cab (oakville 88 vineyard). Virtual tasting with Justin and Andrew. They made this different than the typical hunnicutt big and rich style. They picked a little earlier for a more ageworthy balanced wine. Nice minerality and dark cherry. 93-94+. Would like to see this in 10 years but you can drink it now with a decant. — 6 years ago

Nose is blackberries and slight hint of vanilla some baking spice coming through. On the palate, full on blackberries citrus and meaty (?) I normally drift to cabs so this wine is something out of the norm and my palate says the same. Theres something different but enticing. — 6 years ago
One of my favourite 3 year old reds. Goes well with venison. — 7 years ago
