I was previously unfamiliar with this producer but they appear to be rather small by Bordeaux standards. The 2016 Haut Coteau pours a deep purple with medium viscosity. On the nose, medium intensity, with cassis, earth, plums, tobacco, baking spice. On the palate, again dark tart fruits with earth and wet stone. Quite a lot of structure here with medium+ tannin and acid. The finish is long and bitter…a touch green to be honest…but this is really fairly classic Saint-Estèphe and I actually think another 5-10 years will be quite kind to this bottle.

Nov 13th, 20212016 vintage. Great, inky hue. Unhurried, musty nose with a hint of prunes. Medium-bodied. High plains drift…er…dryer with big tannins and not giving up any fruit other than the dark side: blackberries, plum and cassis currently.
