Pear and apple notes. Medium to full bodied. Crisp with nice minerality. — 4 years ago
Saline, mineral, and plenty of length. Still tightly coiled at this stage. Restrained nose. Kuentz-Bas does fermentation and aging in stainless steel for their grand crus. Really comes through in the wine. It’s like the Louis Michel of Alsace. — 5 years ago

Really an excellent Pinot noir from Sancerre. After my wife and I took a sip we both exclaimed that we need to start buying more Sancerre rouge - just a great quality / price ratio, especially for Pinot noir. This is ruby red, with a dusty cherry nose. A touch restrained on the palate with lots of minerality coming through - great cherry notes on the palate, long finish. Really nice. — 7 years ago
Pale lemon color, with aromas of citrus, floral and flinty stone fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, citrus and dried apricots with floral notes and slight nutty herb spice. Long finish, vivid acidity ending with citrus, floral and stony mineral spice. Nice! — 3 months ago
A darker, deeper Pinot than usual. Smooth and rich. Had it with lamb - highly enjoyable. — a year ago
Solid Riesling. Lots of traditional notes like apple, but more banana than expected Despite the sweeter banana notes, managed to stay lively. Medium-minus acidity. — 3 years ago
Wild red fruits, spicy, light, greedy — 6 years ago
Nose of lemon meringue, coconut, and seashells. Very pretty.
Lean and focused on the palate. Lots of citrusy acidity layered with some of the richer tropical notes and minerality. Good length.
Great aperitif for these hotter months and a good value. More please! — 6 years ago

The 2023 Kuentz-Bas Riesling is an example of what me truly fall in love with this entire style of Alsatian wine. A soft hue of chartreuse meets the eye, and does not lie. After a bit of a breathe the nose is lush and grassy in all the right ways. The palate is where it shines, bringing oodles of wet stone, delightfully gum-soaking minerality, and a finish that defines this style of Riesling. This is in the top three when we pair it with anything spicy- particularly creole- but any spice will do.
