Marchesi Antinori

Riserva Villa Antinori Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2016

This is nice. Don't know what I paid for it. Strong dark fruit presence with gripping tannins and a little minerality. I'm drinking it without food, and it would be much better with a bit of grilled something. But it's nice, I'll say it again.

Peanut Butter Porter

Love the packaging and it was actually quite nice. Smells rich, creamy, malty, and nutty. So is the palate - thick bittersweet chocolate drink. Finishes creamy and syrupy. Admittedly not as peanut buttery as expected, but it's a tasty decadent beer. — 7 years ago

Alaskan Port Blend

This Port-style wine is made from 100% Muscadine grapes, but the winemaker says they were not Alaska-grown. The wholesaler which provided the juice to him could not pinpoint where they were grown. The Muscadine grape is fairly popular in the humid southeastern states.
I’ve had Muscadine wine before - from Alabama - and it was less than spectacular. This wine is actually pretty good. The nose is huge with strawberry and a mercifully faint whiff of Muscadine. The palate is close to great. Alcohol at 17% abv keeps things lively, while the earthy red fruit flavor hits a nice savory note.

Well I am enjoying a bottle at a great Restaurant in Montgomery Alabama. My bud ordered this wine, and along for the ride, it is a good choice. I like the fact that the barrel flavor comes through. Sort of like a good Spanish Oak aged wine. I recommend this for your next wine. — 7 years ago

Josie's Knoll Cabernet Franc 2017

Only tried Virginia wine again on a recent trip to Charlottesville. Years ago Virginia wine might have been the punchline to a joke, but certainly not a drinkable beverage. Times have changed. This is a well made fruity low tannin red any winemaker in California would take pride in. I want more, but can’t get it here in Alabama 😢. — 7 years ago

Superior No. 12 Brand 90 Proof Tennessee Sour Mash Whisky

There's a lot to like about this whisky. There's also quite a lot not to like. The intense vanilla, caramel, mocha flavors are delicious and sustain beautifully. However, there isn't the elegance or smoothness of a great whisky. Better than most large production options at a similar price point and a worthy addition to the home bar.
