A nice Albariño, grapes from the Contado do Tea subzone and the Salnes subzone, aged on lees for about 9 months, pale lemon with aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate pronounced flavors of melon and lemon with hints of toasty notes from lees aging. Long finish, vivid acidity, ending with fruit and smoky character. Will age well. — 2 months ago

A glass w work lunch of homegrown tomatoe/avocado and tinned sardines.
Medium yellow color. Aromas of drupe fruits (peach/apricot). Mouth is more about peach pit with a hint of bitterness and a savory, salty element. Went better w the tomatoes than the sardines (umami harmony?)

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 Mª Luisa Lázaro pours a striking, almost radioactive yellow with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Meyer lemon, lime, starfruit, Granny Smith apple, sea spray, and rocky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, creamy and incredibly saline…like…how did they do that?! Spellbinding stuff. Further proof (as if any more was necessary) that Raúl Pérez is a freaking magician. Until now, this wine has only been released three times: 2005, 2013 and 2019. Only 2500 bottles of this ambrosia were made. Drink now through 2039. — 4 months ago
