Wild Sauvignon Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2020

So, just arrived in Australia this morning for some wine exploring, and my wife wanted a wine we could sip, so here we are drinking Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. As fine as the “regular” Greywacke SB is, this wine seems another level up, gooseberry aromas and flavors, really complex, actually reminds me of the early Cloudy Bay SBs we drank a fair amount of after visiting the Cloudy Bay winery back in 1994. — 16 days ago

Enderle & Moll

Liaison Pinot Noir 2018

Rose petals, cherry, wet moss, wild berries, subtle herbs (tarragon?), flirty hint of grape, bubblegum. And that signature wild, almost over the line E&M VA. Fine tannins, very pretty. Substantially more va in one of two bottles opened. — 3 days ago

Great wine yet on the edge. And once the VA blows off it is all good. The VA is actually Ethyl-acetate which humans can small in extrem small amounts. The whole VA acronym is a misnomer.

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Rosé 2008

Any Dom Rosé deserves its own pedestal but 2008 is arguably the best vintage yet. Looking over my notes from 2000 and 2006 this has more balance and fínese if it is even possible. Shows hints of wild red berries, the acidity is surrounds the palate perfectly, and the finish is long and intense. Just lucky to have tasted this.
