Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2014

Fruit for this Pinot comes from two of the coolest, most coastal parts of this appellation, linked by the influence of the Pacific’s cool marine air, which delays ripening. Ruby with berry fruit, citrus and floral spice. On the palate, strawberry and cherry, tangy, with cedar notes and earthy tones. Bright acidity, soft expressive tannins, long finish ending with tobacco and woody spice. Very nice, drink now & over next 5 years. — 2 days ago

Hartford Court Muldune Trail Pinot Noir 2014

The red wine of our visit to Sonoma from the comfort of home in Santa Barbara. Spicy aromatics for a Sonoma pinot. Clear ruby color. Mostly raspberry aroma with clove and nutmeg. Moderate tannins and finish of spicy compote. Not quite jammy but more fruit than terroir. Does it show place? The flavor palate seems confused or lost. The flavors suggest a central coast pinot, was it lost in translation? Or just failed geography? Not to worry, the wine is solid and enjoyable. Maybe its the drinker who is confused? I like it. — 6 days ago

Cuvée 128 Anderson Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Light yellow green, excellent clarity. Straw, matchstick (briefly) and cantaloupe notes in nose. Citrus and stone fruit flavors with a hint of apple, melon, lime peel and mineral finish. Fairly crisp, dry but fruity, great with food. Nice varietal character as well. With time, a white floral, almost aldehydic note emerges in the nose. — 5 days ago

Solera Volume 3 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir

Candied blackberry, moss, jalapeño. There’s a depth to the fruit, evident of solera-which is fun. This will age beautifully. — 6 days ago

Redwood Valley Syrah 2002

After dumping a few spoiled remnants, this random ass bottle from the pops’ cellar turned out to be more than drinkable. Still got wonderful fresh red fruit. Lots of cracked black pepper. Tannins dusty but still lending structure. Very little tertiary or Syrah meatiness despite age and no oak. Only slight color loss. Just shocked it’s so lively. — 17 days ago

All went well , once you dumped a few down the drain. My dad’s wine closet is pretty much the same.

Deanda Vineyard "Chill Pill" Chenin Blanc 2019

Orange zest, Tropicana from childhood, strong scent of sage.

Oo Oo Oo, can I has more? This a feisty little orange ting.

Love the hazy citrus punch of orange and grapefruit. Great zip and unctuous herbal notes. Perfect natural bubbles.

Really love this as a post midnight spontaneity move.

'Abstract' Grenache Blend 2018

Love it! Had with Tom and Debbi at their house. Had potatoes and leek soup, beets/leek/mandarins salad, wild mushrooms potatoes and wild rice from Millennium and vegan ice cream. Has bright popping aromatics of juicy raspberries, cranberries and pluots. The wine is big and massive yet incredibly smooth with a hint of sweet cream. With a luscious and velvety mouthfeel, the wine finishes with lingering ripe black plum and fades softly and slowly. Blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and Syrah from California — 13 days ago
