Quilt pays tribute to Napa Valley’s wines, sourced from a patchwork of prime Napa Valley vineyards. Met Joseph Wagner a few times and tasted his wines, Joe signed a few bottles for me. Pale lemon color with aromas of fresh fruit, citrus and honey floral scents. On the palate flavors of apple, pear and lemon zest with toasty nutty notes. Lively acidity, well balanced on medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel ending with creamy mineral tones. Very nice Joe! — a month ago
Crafted by Joseph J. Wagner, 4th generation winemaker, with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tea and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of jammy blackberry and cherry with pronounced sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! A restaurant favorite! — 5 months ago

‘Las Alturas' Spanish for 'the heights', a fitting name, this vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. 4th gen Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner from family with farming & winemaking roots in Napa since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby (darkest Pinot I have come across). Nice berry and floral spice aromas. Rich cherry/plum flavors with oak, spice and vanilla. Long finish, bold ending with sweet oak notes. Nice! A Fav! — 7 days ago

It’s time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark purple in color with a short purple rim.
Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate and fruit forward.
Rich, yet elegant
Showing black plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, diet cola, tobacco, chocolates, peppercorn and light candy notes.
Nice finish with soft tannins and cherries.
This is a tasty Merlot from the Wagner family. Nicely balanced, easy drinking and good for parties.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime. Good by itself or with food.
I've had a few vintages of this Merlot, and it is very consistent.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
