What a mouthful this gem is. A reference point in southern France.
Huge dollops of Meyer lemons on the nose. Palate displays biscotti and maple syrup. Huge textured finish, with a viscous mouthfeel. Extremely decadent. 15 - 20 years of runway in front of it. — 6 days ago
Vintage 2019 | apricot from Viognier is dominant in smell, while a certain souplesse and earthiness from Chardonnay is present in taste. Happy marriage of two grapes. Went well with codfish and broad beans, asparagus and samphire. Nice wine. | at Élevé — 3 days ago
Delicious! Crisp and citrusy but retains nice body. Holds up well to food but no problem sipping on the patio. — 14 days ago
This was my note from my last tasting of this: Bought this after tasting at the vineyards. I usually avoid non N. Rhone viognier like the plague (or Covid, too soon?). But this was excellent, and compelling enough to make me buy more than 1 btl. Notes from Day 2 open, and in the fridge overnight, and then in a refrigerated bag during a hike followed by a long car ride. On the nose: peach, tangerine, lychee, so vibrant and with a soft minerality. On the palate: excellent acidity, which is always the problem outside the Rhone, good density...sappy without being overly oily, fantastic minerality on the palate with a soft bitter walnut note. Excellent.
This time, perhaps a bit less minerality. — 25 days ago
Luscious acidity, hanging out on the beach (tropical fruit) and a breathe of the sea. — 11 days ago
