Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee. Incredible hosting by Joe. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine, all tasted blind.
Wonderful. A stunner. I called this Condrieu Viognier. Floral and minty, gaining ginger and peach on the nose as it opened. Low acidity. Lychee and white flower on the palate. Incredible expression.

Aromas of ripe apricot, honeyed peach, and white flowers are layered with subtle hints of hazelnut, spice, and subtle tropical fruits. The palate is lush and rich yet never feels weighty, and offering stone fruit, candied citrus, and a touch of minerality. The long, harmonious finish leaves notes of almond and soft honeysuckles lingering delicately. A mature, refined Condrieu at its expressive peak.

Medium gold; ripe nose of almost candied pit fruit, vanilla and flowers; very rich in the mouth with peach, liquid flower, mineral and a pronounced spicy finish. Note this is not an obvious food wine.
