Nice wine. Can’t argue with a good riserva Brunello. — 4 years ago
Better than I remembered it. — 5 years ago
Quality Sangiovese grapes which have been sadly overoaked to appeal to newbie Western Palates. After 30 minutes notes of earth and dried cherry came through. Many years to go with a good future when hopefully the oak will diminish. Personally I like the Old school approach from Biondi Santi where old oak and other procedures are usedresulting in wines which will age 50+ years. I tried a 2010 vintage of this wine from magnum in Italy 18 months ago which was also overoaked. — 5 years ago
Really quite a fantastic Brunello from an obviously great producer. In a great place at ~9 years but no rush. Lots of refined red fruit on the nose. Manages to get the balance and tension between fruit, earth, and acid nearly perfect. Finish is slightly less expansive and long than I was hoping, and the tannins are a bit unintegrated. But those are nits - delicious and thoroughly enjoyable. Also appreciate the 13.5%. — 16 days ago
1970 that came out ripe from the opening, blew off funk and just kept on coming with relentless nose of stewed fruit baked pie, spice, figs, Quince, etc but also great acid to balance...at the end like a great port but what a fantastic experience from great producer. — 5 years ago

Tannins. Light to medium. I love shopping for good values in over priced shops. — 16 days ago
Fresh, elegant, and pure. Just what the doctor ordered to energise the mid-week slump! Unfurls in the glass with aromas of cherry liqueur, mint, dusty florals, and a tincture of meatiness. The palate’s silky and airy, with juicy acidity and fine sandy tannins felt on the gums (more specifically at the base of the teeth). Subtle finish that’s actually quite long, as it lingers with notes of cherry and earthy accents. With air, the mid-to-back palate gained some mineral notes which I wanted more of, but alas the bottle was finished! Such is the danger of a great wine - an empty bottle comes far too soon, without you even realising it. — 4 months ago
Nice blend, well balanced. Just got better and better through the night — 5 years ago

Annata Biondi-Santi. This is absolutely delicious. Always special from this producer. Love the color. Classic Sangiovese. Orange rimmed next to the pale red. Balanced between some grippy but delicate tannins and approachable fruit. The nose has some spice and some earth but they don’t bring a kick so much as depth. The bottom line is you can tell it’s great because the wine drinks so fast! — 8 days ago
