Deep garnet. Hawthorn, tart cherry, rose and tar, asphalt, forest floor, dried herbs, sanguine, oregano, thyme, fennel, rosemary. Well integrated acidity and tannins. Full body (14.5%). Great value 😍 called it Barolo La Morra (ignoring the dark color) #facepalm — 16 days ago

Riserva Radici Taurasi Aglianico 2016

Firm yet juicy, with nice cherry fruit and rocky minerality. Nice depth, slightly rustic yet juicy tannins and great flow.
8h in the decanter allows sufficient air time for opening up.
A classic and in ‘16 really shines.

Feudi di San Gregorio

Piano di Montevergine Taurasi Aglianico 2016

Juicy, sappy, polished, delicious.
Pure dark cherry with a pinch of dried herbs and a nice mineral backdrop. Nice depth, too.
Polished tannins, juicy acidity and purity of fruit on the palate. After 8h secant this shines yet in ‘16 the Radici shines brighter.
A really good one though.

Exultet Fiano di Avellino 2019

Light liquid yellow in the glass… explosive first sip. Acid, weight, bright lemon zest, brioche, tart key lime. Long, chewy, stemmy finish lasts at least 30 seconds. Wonderful mid-summer food wine that grows in gravitas and grip as it warms…nice foil to roast Alaskan halibut with heirloom tomato/ricotta topper. Not your average simple Italian white. — a month ago
