2015 Mathhiasson Cab to celebrate Jesse’s pre school graduation. — 5 months ago
This is such a cool Napa Cab, med plus body, med alcohol (13%), high acidity. But still a proper Cab. It’s elegant and well structured with bright fruit. So so pure, drinks well while young. — 9 months ago
Superb. Blend sauv Blanc, Ribolla Gialla, semillon, tokai friulano — 2 months ago
The 2014 Jimmy Watson Trophy winner. 30% whole bunch ferment; 2-3% Viognier co-fermented. The winemaker, Steve Pannell is highly awarded in Australia and made the following comment, “Wonderful now but I’ll be keeping a few bottles for a celebration in 2026 and suggest you do the same. “ Written on 17/11/23. This wine was intense in flavour without being too big. Black plum, spice and liquorice. Have the last one in 2030+ if I have the willpower. — a month ago
Happy Easter!!
20+ minutes open in the bottle. Lovely dark, translucent red color. Bell pepper, herbs, and rhubarb on the nose. More rhubarb, cranberries, and subtle raspberries on the palate. Similar to a French Morgon. Excellent with Easter ham! Medium depth and surprisingly long finish. — 7 months ago

I was swearing off Grenache (both colors) due to the incessant hangovers—and yes, I have one—but this is the kind of juice that is worth the squeeze. Lighter than expected in a good way, not zippy but not overly bloated with sugar and booze, at least not that the palate can detect. Would drink again on a hot evening and wait for what may come. — 3 years ago

Truly, on of the Napa great wines. With the myth himself, Steve Matthiasson. — 7 months ago
Can’t rate. Maybe the wine is in a weird spot or my palate was affected by the 4 sessions of snow shoveling, but if I had a blindfold on I would have thought this was a red. Somewhat restrained on the palate with lots of steel elements and some earth. Color was great, as was the cork, so must be me. Usually one of my favorites! — 9 months ago
See previous notes on March 2020 and October 2020. This tasting was even better than those two tastings. At 10 years it is peaking. Sweet and savoury ripe plum and black cherry. So mellow, earthy and delicious. A brilliant wine from a brilliant winemaker. He certainly is the master of alternative varieties in this country - Steve Pannell. A lot like cool climate Shiraz and many would pick it as that in a blind tasting. A great match with Chicken Legs. — 3 years ago

This was amazing I would have 100 percent guessed southern France as origin. So good with food. Will buy more. — 8 days ago
