Weingut Friedrich Becker

Becker Family Pinot Gris 2018

Skin contact Pinot Gris from the Pfalz. First for me, and one of the best skin contact whites I have ever had. Orange blossoms, tangerine, pear, peach, and white tea. Wonderful round structure that has enough acid to keep it interesting, plus a very subtle tannic grip. Excellent bottle. — 10 days ago

Chalk Hill

Estate Bottled Chalk Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2018

A really great SB! Blend of 96% Sauv Blanc & 4% Sauv Gris adding an interesting dynamic to the wine & distinctive aromas (prior vintages added some Semillon) Pale lemon color, citrus, tropical & floral aromas. On the palate peach, melon, herb & earthy tones, well balanced with acidity, smooth yet robust on a long finish ending rich with wet stone character. Good value! A Fav!! Tried several times, very consistent!! — 7 days ago

Domaine Tinel-Blondelet

Arelles Pouilly Fumé Sauvignon

One of the top Pouilly-Fumes I’ve had. Ever. My view is that, while P-Fume and Sancerre have much in common, Sancerre has several plots with superior terroir that set it apart from P-Fume. That said, this really shines. Intense nose juxtaposes light grassy herbal notes, limestoney minerality, and ripe fruit. In other words, all the elements you want from a Loire SB in perfect balance. In the mouth, it’s got piercing fruit up front, and then gives way to intense minerality together with zingy acidity, but not just acidity by itself: acidity integrated with fruity notes that creates an almost electric sensation. Really top notch effort. — 16 days ago

King Estate

Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2018

A nice OR Pinot Gris, pale lemon with aromas of ripe stone fruits with floral scents. On the palate flavors of pear and ripe apple with lime citrus zest, wrapped in lively acidity. Medium+ finish ending with fruit and a touch of earthy herbs. Very nice, good value! — 20 days ago

Oregon Pinot Gris 2017

ESF
9.1

Pale straw w/greenish hue - expressive nose of sweet citrus & honeydew melon + some tropical fruit. Quite the SB nose, silky suave mouthfeel and a beautiful harmony of fruit, texture & acidity. Not Alsatian style - I’d say very New World and impressive. — 4 days ago

Tessier Winery

Filigreen Farm Pinot Gris 2019

I didn’t know it was possible to enjoy a Pinot Gris this much (outside of Friuli or Alsace). This unfiltered, 3-days-on-the-skins version from Tessier is evocative and vivid: golden apple, white peach, pennyroyal, bergamot. A single-vineyard wine from Filigreen Farm, a self-sustaining, biodynamically famed vineyard in the Anderson Valley. — 3 days ago
