Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2021 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard is laced with crushed red berry fruit. Spice, tobacco and mint are some of the notes that grace this expressive, nuanced Pinot. The 2021 was done with fully destemmed fruit, but there is a sense of savoriness here that is quite attractive. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023) — 6 days ago

Sea Smoke

Southing Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2015

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a Sea Smoke and for good reason. Well made for sure just too over the top for me now — 15 days ago

Belle Glos

Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

This was excellent. Delicious, fruity, juicy, very smooth and drinkable, light tannins and not very earthy for a Pinot. — 8 days ago

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2010

Another amazing bottle. This is quite smooth and rounded at this point. Lots of mellowed fruit and the perfect amount of slight bite. Color is medium. Just gorgeous. — 24 days ago

Melville

Estate Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2021

Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and spicy forest floor notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, blackberry, and crushed red cherries with notes of cedar and baking spice, lively acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy notes. Drinking well! Pair this with a pork roast or Salmon with a balsamic glaze. — 2 months ago

Santa Barbara Highlands Grenache 2020

375. Feminine. Nice length. Good purity. Has a candied/confectionary note that’s surprisingly pleasant. Fruit forward and pretty. Best at cellar temp. // Edit: paired this with roasted beets and fancy balsamic and GOTTDAMN — 23 days ago

Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

This vintage of Pieve Santa Restituta is delicious. To be more specific: the best word to describe it is the English "smooth". The Polish "smooth" does not reflect the nuances. 🙂 Tannins pleasantly tighten the tongue. The acidity is perfect for me. Fleeting fruitiness on the nose, but none on the palate. Back to the nose: spices and herbs, especially thyme, some tobacco. I love the dryness of this wine. — 22 days ago
