Salt Lick Cellars

Bokisch Vineyards

Andrus Island Vineyard Albariño 2018

Nose: sea salt, lemon, white flowers, peach, tiny hint of petrol.
Palate: similar notes, but they kind of flip intensities on the palate— ripe citrus, ripe peach, sea salt, flowers, stones
High acid, medium weight, 12% alc

Santa Maria Valley Melon de Bourgogne 2019

Edit: this is the 2019 vintage; last month I had the 2017. Honeydew melon, honey (redundant?), salt but not to a gross extent, Meyer lemon. 😋😋 — 16 days ago

SP68 Terre Siciliane Nero d'Avola Frappato 2018

From P&V:

Gorgeous melange of mixed berry, purple flowers with a zingy cranberry tang. Throw some fresh, dark soil in the mix for a bit of crunch and some deeper, darker notes and you've got a winner. Elegant, charismatic, with just a lick of acidity. Mandatory drinking.

Bodega de Bardos

Reserva Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2016

Licorice, cherry, black currant, a bit of oak too. Superb palate with a strong acid drive, some nice cherry and currant notes, a nice width with matter on the sides, grainy, joyful tannins which tend to dry a bit a very long finish with fruit, meat juice, a tiny but of salt and a subtle bitterness. It would have been better with food but that's a great tasting experience by itself — 4 days ago

Stone Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager

Wow I love this beer! I usually don’t like lagers and have never tasted one like it. It’s light and refreshing, almost like a wheat beer. — a month ago

Bürgergarten "Im Breumel" Großes Gewächs Riesling 2017

Way too young, but still phenomenal. On the nose:.lime, soft yeast, flowers and baking soda, wet stone...so aromatically dense. On the palate: excellent acidity, otherworldly dry-extract, with lime, sour guava, salt, loads of wet stone, and a touch of yeastiness. Wish I could keep my hands off these! — 5 days ago
