Ode to Lulu California Old Vine Rosé Blend 2021

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2021 Rosé Ode to Lulu shows mineral-tinged aromas of red berries, nectarine and citrus zest complemented by herb notes. Silky and energetic on the palate, offering white peach, strawberry and tangerine flavors with delineation and tension. A floral note lingers on the finish. $24.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2022) — 8 hours ago

A blend of 30% Mourvedre, 30% Consult and 40% Syrah. Batroun District.
Pale, rosey pink. This offers a deep nose of crushed wet granite and a suggestion of red fruits. On the palate this offers an energetic, mineral tinged, savory character that echos a few Catalan reds with extended skin/lees contact I've tasted. It seems more about place and soil than fruit and is quite interesting.
My wife described it as 'spicy.' Probably not the best bottle to have been pulled for girl's night!
With more air on day three this shows a dried/crushed rose petal and cardamom note.

Rose et Or Côtes de Provence Rosé Blend 2021

Absolutely delicious summer afternoon in a glass. Fruity and smooth, could drink a whole bottle. Enjoyed in Tallinn with Jonny, Wilson, and Duke. — 8 days ago

Galets Rosés Costières-de-Nîmes Rosé Blend 2021

Watermelon and some bubble gum character up front. But great concentration- a lot of fruit, candy, texture, depth. Some sweetness. This is a rosé to drink now or age. — 6 days ago

Kirkland Signature

Côtes de Provence Rosé Blend 2021

Nose has peaches, white florals, orange zest, raspberries and chalk dust.

Palate has dehydrated strawberry, faint red grapefruit, green melon, chalky minerals (dry) with some salinity on the finish.

A sub-$15 (might have been less, didn't write the price on the label as I generally do...) winner from Costco; I'm not the least disappointed.

Château Barthès

Bandol Rosé Blend 2021

Vintage 2021 | Early drinking, fine luncheon wine, paired with beetrootsalade, goatcheese and lemon/oliveoil. High bitters, so better with food or give this bottle one or a few years cellar. — 3 days ago

Rose d'Anjou 2021

2021. Too hot and muggy to cook tonight, so this chilled rosé and leftover cold pizza to the rescue. My first thought was that the wine could use a little more acidity, but it ended up pairing well. — 5 days ago

Crémant de Bourgogne Brut Rosé Blend

NV (2018 fruit); Last bottle! 🙁 Still delicious and prior notes apply.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons and pianist Paul Lewis collaborate on the third of three concerts encompassing all five of Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano concertos in one weekend. Today's program includes OGONEK (Starling Variations, 2022; world premiere), FARRENC (Symphony No. 3 in G minor, Opus. 36) and BEETHOVEN (Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat, Opus 73, Emperor). This weekend has been an auditory pleasure, enjoying all five of Beethoven's piano concerti, and what a finale today!

Love Huey Lewis on piano, but he’s a little better with the Harmonica.

I actually sat next to Huey in the MSP airport many, many years ago.

Not sure of the varietal(s) in this Spanish Rose’. (Txakoli?) Very little information about this wine on the label of the bottle. Light pink color. Strawberry bubble gum on the nose and pallet. Extremely Fruit forward. Touch of mineral. Hints of RS and CO2. Quite refreshing. — 12 days ago
