Roero Arneis 2024

This is dangerously good. The peach and pear flavors are vibrant and just mesmerizing, and it has a nice minerality and good acidity that help balance the flavors out. If you don’t watch yourself, this bottle will be empty in a flash. This is just what I needed to remind me that summer is around the corner, and soon this New England winter will be a distant memory. — 24 days ago

@Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego it is! And now I’m thinking I’d like to explore more Arneis wines. Need some more fun white wines to enjoy.

@Joel Lara The vibe I’ve been getting lately (last 3 mos) is that peeps wanna (occasionally) drink past the usual Sauvie B, Chard/white Burg/bubbles options. Riesling is still the bastard stepchild as are any derivatives/associates. White Rhônes, Arneis, Albariño and a few others seriously solicting interest.

@Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego Interesting! Any suggestions for white Rhônes or Albarinos? I’ve never had either but would like to explore. I haven’t been drinking much whites lately except for sparklers the last few years. I was exploring Chablis and Assyrtiko a few years back and really liked them, but just fell off my radar for some reason.

Prachiosso Roero Nebbiolo 2019

Hi everyone! This is lovely (rare descriptor for me). Medium red brick color, medium plus body, medium plus alcohol but subtle. Nice acidity, and tannins make this absolutely drinkable right now-- 8/26/25 my 58th birthday, forgot to give everyone my new Miami address for bottled gifts 😜 . Certainly floral notes on both the nose and palate, but not rose, some cedar overtones, with an enjoyable minerality. It's lovely because it all comes together like a beautiful gift basket (pun not intended) that would impress a royal lady, but stand up proud for a gentleman. It will improve, but you don't have to let it!

Malvirà

Riserva Mombeltramo Roero Nebbiolo 2011

Nach 15 jahren wiedet mal Malvirà getrunken. Ausserhalb von Barolo/Barbaresco wohl einer der konstantesten produzenten im südlichen Piemont! Wenn wie hier gereift…umso schöner! — 4 months ago

Roero Nebbiolo 2022

This is a pleasant nebbiolo that I see pairing well with a lot of pasta dishes. Overall, this wine has very scrumptious red fruit flavors with settled tannins that balance the fresh acidity really well. It’s a translucent, pale red that’s medium bodied with scents of cherry, rose, and leather. Primarily it’s the cherry that comes through on the palate. The fine grained tannins transition to black tea notes and cherry on the finish. The fruit on the finish quickly disappears. — 3 months ago

Roero Nebbiolo 2020

This wine has a nice medium ruby tint in the glass, with a bit of brick red in the pour. The nose has plum and blackberry aromas, along with those of tobacco and purple flowers. The palate has a grip that won't turn loose, extremely firm tannins and wholehearted acidity. The overall impression is that of a savory wine that begs to be paired with steak, the fattier the better. — 5 months ago

Roero Arneis

🍇 100% Arneis | Roero DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

A classic Northern Italian white, crafted from Arneis grapes sourced across the villages of Vezza d’Alba, Piobesi, and Monteu Roero, all part of the heartland of the Roero appellation.

On the nose:
Fragrant and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, and a citrus lift. A gentle thread of mineral elegance keeps it grounded and regionally expressive.

On the palate:
Dry, crisp, and clean, with a smooth texture, refreshing acidity, and a subtle, pleasantly bitter almond note on the finish — a signature Arneis trait. Light-bodied yet structured, it’s harmonious and polished, with more personality than your average summer white.

Food pairing:
Versatile and food-friendly, perfect with seafood, light pasta dishes, grilled veggies, and fresh cheeses like burrata or robiola.

A true gem from Piedmont expressive, regional, and quietly elegant.
Cheers to Arneis done right! 🍐🍋🌸
