Stunning and wide open nose. So clean. Insane clarity. Peach but juuuust barely ripe. Amazing minerality. Shimmering and expansive. Ripe citrus. More tangelo and blood orange than grapefruit. Palate is tense and a bit closed but oh so promising. Linear and focused like a laser. Super long finish and astonishing purity. Silky and refined. So juicy and clean. Wow what structure and density. Almost tannic on the finish. A baby but the finish is maybe one of the longest I’ve had in a while. Stunning. I’ll be back as it needs air. Nose is so rocky and so mineral. Almost no fruit except some light peach. Palate is expanding and the mid is opening with some tangy peach flesh which leads to the insanely long mineral and silky finish.
10 hours later this is singing. Wow. Total confectionary nose and stunning finesse. Almost a 9.8. — 4 days ago
Lemon, lemon peel, orange, pineaple and a tad of chalk : the nose is quite complex! The palate is very well balanced, crisp and clean with a superb acid backbone, nice touches of lemon an pineaple all along, a vivid and dynamic mouthfeel and a long clean and fresh finish with this citrusy tune which is played all along the backbone. That's great! — 17 days ago
Second take on this one, different vintage.
The lemon peel, yuzu, petrol, white flower nose is intoxicating. The palate is extremely long and acid driven. That makes for a very vivid mouthfeel, almost electric, but there is some matter and width around it. The rear expands somehow into a very long and broad finish with yuzu and lemony notes. This is really good again. Probably my favourite trocken riesling to this day. — 4 days ago
Meets expectations of a great Riesling with classic petroleum notes and amazingly balanced and refreshing acidity, and then exceeds them with an elegant sophisticated aftertaste and evolution on the palate. — 11 days ago
Beautifully ripe. Fresh and confectionary; caramel and red fruit. Pomegranate molasses. I’m realizing after about an hour that this is some of the most deftly used oak in recent memory. So subtle I almost didn’t notice. Succulent and delightful. Stunning. — 7 days ago
Cloudy pale yellow, v. expressive & aromatic but not on the fruit side.
Summer meadow, dried grass, bruised apples, fresh Mandarine peel. Funky, wild, so fresh & juicy!
On the palate this is equally funky, a bit cidery yet has brilliant balance. Great flow & energy, a touch of tannins, a spicy finish.
Definitely unorthodox yet sooo drinkable. The Seckinger brothers have done it again!
