Agree with the Wine Enthusiast rating of 92.
Big fruit bomb, typical Petite Sirah jammy. Balanced enough for food, great pizza/burger wine. 2017 vintage — 10 days ago
A blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah & Grenache, aged for 10 months on French oak (40% new). Deep Ruby, aromas of black fruits, cedar and sweet spice. On the palate, ripe plums, jammy blueberries and sweet cherry with slight oak and vanilla spice, pours like syrup. Long finish, allowing soft tannins to open in your mouth. Good structure, great mouthfeel, ending with pure fruit and dash of minerality, drinks well now. Produced with 12 different labels. Wow! — 4 days ago
The best Zinfandel I’ve had this year. Definitely a deep fruit flavor... plums and blackberries. Butter smooth from beginning to end. Great.... — 2 days ago
Dynamite with Guinness lamb stew. Aged in bourbon barrels, what a concept. Still youthful. Will be fun to see how it ages. — 5 days ago
From Cris Cherry’s new operation out of Villa Creek in Paso, the Maha wines I believe are all estate fruit. This was surprisingly approachable for such a young petite sirah (didn’t know that was the dominant grape, as it just says “red wine” on the back!). Not surprisingly, this was terrific. The Villa Creek High Road is still my favorite of his, but the Maha wines are definitely worth your time to seek out! — 12 days ago
Another day in the pandemic.. another bottle of wine. I purchased a whole case of 2014 Fiddletown Cellars Petite Sirah when I read an article saying this wine was affordable and would age well. Tonight we gave one of those bottles a try... perhaps a bit early, but, even now, the wine is quite nice! It is inky dark. On the nose the slight dark fruit smell is pushed aside by the smell of peppery bay leaves (the greenness may be an indication that wine will be even better with more time). But, as stated, the wine is going down smooth tonight, even with it’s pronounced tannic structure, or is accessible and food friendly. — 15 days ago
Lovely full bodied white. Beautiful oiley texture, notes of beeswax, marhsmallow, apple, nuts, and maybe a touch buttery and a bit of white flowers. — 6 days ago
